This is just what I was looking for to use in my elementary PE classes. There is a strong push to incorporate literacy into our PE program, but it can be difficult to find a way to merge the two curriculums. This book does it for me! I will be using this with my K-2 kiddos as a way to create a discussion about inference and imagination while still talking about the importance of physical activity. Thank you so much to the authors for writing this book! Can't wait for the next one! :)
My students could NOT stop laughing during this book! As a teacher, I have so many "Back to School" books that I read at the beginning of the year...but a book about P.E. isn't something I have ever run across, and I'm so happy that I did! My students were able to make awesome connections with this book which made for a great read aloud. After reading it aloud, I loved seeing my students pulling it off the shelf to read on their own. I can always hear their little giggles when they read their favorite part, "Cut it out, Billy."
Another great book! My kids loved commenting on whether they have seen their PE teacher do some of the things the PE teacher did in the book. They loved laughing at the PE teacher in the book and my kindergartener commented on what rules he broke!!
We presented a copy of this book to both of our PE Coaches! They loved it!In this fun book, you are able to see from the mind’s eye of a child! The expressions on the PE teacher’s face are hilarious! I was able to hear the voice of the kid’s through the author’s writing! The illustrations are adorable and on point!We shared this book with a coach turned principal, his thoughts “You gotta have some ninja moves to work in an elementary school!†Purchase this book for your students! They will love it!
My 2nd grade class loved this book. I switched out the name in the book with our PE teachers name. They thought it was pretty hilarious.
This is a entertaining book for all ages. The illustrations are simple and attention-keeping for the younger audience. The story is spot on in the life of a quality P.E. teacher. Written by a P.E. teacher about P.E. teachers, but should be read by everyone!
